Your AV FAB CO. product is manufactured from raw steel and may naturally develop surface oxidation or rust due to exposure to moisture, humidity, temperature changes, or handling. This is normal and expected with unfinished steel products.

To help protect and preserve your product, we recommend seasoning the steel prior to use and periodically throughout its lifetime.

Recommended Seasoning Process:
1. Wash thoroughly with soap and water, then dry completely before seasoning.

2. Apply a light, even coat of cooking oil or your preferred food-safe seasoning oil to all surfaces, including grill tops, front and back sides, edges, & welded areas.

3. Place the fully assembled collapsible grill on a cooking tray or heat-safe surface. 
4. Heat in an oven at 450°F for approximately 1 hour, for all other products including the collapsible grill, season directly before use during initial barbecue operation.

5. Oven recommendation only for products you choose to place in oven for seasoning process. 

Regular maintenance and seasoning will help reduce oxidation and improve the longevity and appearance of the steel over time.
